Grievance Redressal Mechanisms in Local Self Government Institutions
Primary Grievance Redressal Mechanisms

1. Ombudsman for LSGIs

OMBUDSMAN FOR LSGIs

Citizens may submit complaints against elected representatives or officials of Local Self Government Institutions regarding corruption, maladministration, abuse of power, negligence, or irregularities.

2. LSG Tribunal

LSGI TRIBUNAL

Appeals against decisions made by Local Self Government Institutions, including matters relating to permits, licences, taxation, and administrative decisions, may be filed before the Tribunal.

3. Chief Minister's Grievance Portal

Complaints regarding public services can be submitted online through the Chief Minister's Public Grievance Redressal Portal for appropriate action.

4. K-SMART Citizen Portal

K-SMART PORTAL

Citizens can apply for various Local Self Government services online, submit grievances, and track the status of applications.

5. Vigilance Department

VIGILANCE & ANTI-CORRUPTION BUREAU

Complaints involving corruption, bribery, or misuse of official position by government employees may be reported to the Vigilance Department.

Hierarchy for Escalating Complaints

Level 1

Submit the complaint to the Secretary or the concerned Officer of the Local Self Government Institution and request action within the prescribed time.

Level 2

If no action is taken, escalate the complaint to the District Deputy Director of Panchayats or the appropriate supervisory authority.

Level 3

If the issue still remains unresolved, approach the Ombudsman, LSG Tribunal, Vigilance Department, or the Chief Minister's Grievance Portal depending on the nature of the complaint.
